Was anyone aware that Anthony Horowitz was writing the screenplay for the Adventures of Tintin 2? Rated one star by the illustrious Steven Spielberg, the Adventures of Tintin 2 would rediscover the well-loved adventures of the classic Tintin.
|“|| Although he concedes that the reviews for Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin have been “mixed” – my colleague Mike McCahill gives it a derisory one star in Seven – Anthony Horowitz tells me that he is already hard at work on Tintin 2 and reckons there might even be a few more instalments beyond that.
“I think it is one of those films where people will simply vote with their feet and there is no question in my mind that the sequel will get made,” says the amiable creator of Alex Rider. “I may not be a critic, but I loved the film when I saw it at the London premiere. It captures the spirit of the books I loved so much when I was a youngster with its old-fashioned hero who doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke and doesn’t chase women. Hergé’s books were a huge inspiration to me when I first read them as a child – they gave me the travel bug and made me want to write and report, so they changed my life."
