Hi, welcome to Alex Rider Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Eva Stellenbosch page.
It's fine, but don't be as hasty next time, okay? And the list of recent edits is a long one - every contribution to the site is seen and appreciated whether you're at the top of the list or not, so it seems a bit silly to get angry over it. We're a community, yes, but at this point, we're still quite a small one. So try not to get angry about it next time, because you really don't need to be. Anyway, I hope you have fun editing, and just let me know if you'd like my help with anything --Shinkei1923 09:29, April 3, 2010 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for your opinion :) Yeah, hopefully I'll be doing them for them all - just finished getting the Point Blanc one up now - but it's time consuming because I'm wanting it to be very accurate with dates - having an Alex Rider timeline through 2001 so it's clear when all the events occur would be amazing. It'd probably be helpful to fanfiction writers and the like, and it'll help with spotting and resolving inaccuracies in the novels between the UK/US editions, because I'm using just the UK editions to write them :D If there are any major differences between them they could be added as notes at the end of each timeline and that.... Meh. I'm ambitious xD Thanks for your offer of help btw - if you've got time do you think you could go through the Stormbreaker/Point Blanc timelines and check that they're accurate? I think they're accurate but it'd be good to have a second opinion, as there were definitely a few bits (like Alex's training in the Brecon Beacons in Stormbreaker) that really confused me when it came to making the dates up. If not, it's fine :)
Haha, I've read Skeleton Key and Eagle Strike just as many times - out of the entire series, they're my favourites :D And Cray was pretty awesome - he's probably my fave villain, though Sarov comes pretty close ;) --Shinkei1923 16:35, April 4, 2010 (UTC)
Alex's birthday's a tricky thing to place - the only times his birthday is mentioned (as far as I can remember) is in Point Blanc when Alex says he would be two years old in 1989 and at the end of Crocodile Tears when Jack and him are discussing it. And I think his birthday was thought to be in January for a bit, but then Horowitz confirmed the date to be February 13th, 1987, though there's loads of problems with that... there's some notes on the Timeline of Alex's Life page in the first paragraph and in the 'notes and contradictions' section about them if you want to take a look.
Which Skeleton Key time-frame hole are you referring to by the way? I know without looking in detail at the book that it'll probably be hard to make the timeline (lack of dates, difficult to place the starting point of it, etc) but I can't remember any ones other than the thing with Sarov's age (he's said to be born in 1940, and said to be 62 years old in the books - if this is right, Alex must be 15 in the books rather than 14 because it'll be taking place in 2002).
Don't worry about the commas - you'll probably notice that a lot of the time, I'm the same ;) -- Shinkei1923 20:08, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that bit in Scorpia is one of the reasons why the official date for Alex's birthday given by Horowitz doesn't match up with what he's put in the books. I'm sure as I get the timelines done more holes are going to come up though >.<
As to the Skeleton Key one, I've started that, and I've started the Eagle Strike one too, though neither are nowhere near done yet. Hopefully (and that's a big 'hopefully') I'll have at least one of them done by the end of the Easter holidays (about April 19th for me). I've got a really busy life until the end of June (university prep/exams and that) but all the timelines for the books should be done by the end of July. You'd be suprised at how long they actually take, haha... Though, whether that means I'll get one more up and you won't see the rest until July or whether that means I'll get them up in steady updates, I don't know yet... We'll see how it goes :)
Hmm... to become an admin on here I think you'd best ask Lcawte for the exact requirements - he's the head here, not me - but to be considered at the very least I think that you'd need to be an active member of the site, making lots of edits and contributing a great deal to all the articles. Like I said, best ask him :) -- Shinkei1923 19:04, April 7, 2010 (UTC)
Skin Survey Edit
Hi, I'm planning to possibly code a new skin customization, and add a new logo to the wiki, I thought I would check first, what skins are regulars use. Do you use Monaco or Monobook. Monobook is the Wikipedia style skin. If your not sure, check Special:Preferences under the skin tab. Thanks, --Lcawte 15:52, April 26, 2010 (UTC)
Happy (belated) birthday :) Edit
Hey :) Just wanted to wish you a happy birthday! I know I'm ten days late, so I'm sorry for that - I was hit by a virus and have been without a computer for the the past few weeks... oh well >.< Anyways, I hope you're well, and that you had a good time on the day :) - Shinkei1923 19:29, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
Haha, no worries. I won't be losing interest anytime soon, but my edits on here will be few and far between until July - I've got three weeks till I leave school forever, and then I've got loads of exams, so it's going to be stressful for a while :S And just wondering, you know when you write on my talk page, do you click 'leave a message' or 'edit page'? Because I didn't get any of your other messages till now because they appear in different sections rather than appearing at the bottom automatically if 'leave a message' was used :/ Sorry! In answer to your questions though, I think the 'Marius Grief' bit is messed up - he's called Hugo Grief in my book, but I asked my friend in America and he told me that his version said the same as yours :/ About making a page though, maybe we should wait for a while - I mean, all the timelines should be done by the end of the summer, so then we could compare and make a list of all the differences - If there isn't that many, we could just add them in 'Trivia' sections on the respective pages, but if there's quite a few, we could make a separate page dedicated to them :) Just wondering though, is he called Marius Grief in the American version of Point Blanc? Because if he isn't, then it's a MISTAKE :D And we could do a mistake/inaccuracies page. Could probably do a whole section there about Alex's birthday too -.-
And LOL! No, I wasn't forced to watch it :P My friend came up to me one day and showed me it because she loved the way it was drawn and knew I would love it too (I'm quite an artsy person) so then we did some more research, sat down, watched it and loved it :D It's one of my fave anime/manga series.... though yeah, at first glance it all probably seems a bit weird xD -- Shinkei1923 16:41, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
Hi. I am new to this wiki. I have so many questions! Have you heard of blogs? Are there forums here? Are there active admins? Is it true you hate Sabina Pleasure? Why did I just ask that? Bumblebeeprime09's Quarters/Radio/Records 11:36, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Funny. You seriously taped her picture to a dartboard? I've actually taped a picture of Damian Cray to MY dartboard. I drew one, before you ask. Bumblebeeprime09's Quarters/Radio/Records 01:38, January 10, 2011 (UTC)
About me: I would like to warn you, I will have my moments. I am nice, but there are those times where my brain shrinks and/or expands and I try to conduct ruthless psycological warfare on others. And sometimes I'm just plain weird... Bumblebeeprime09's Quarters/Radio/Records 01:48, January 10, 2011 (UTC)
